more than enough for me

 what a great sunday it has been. in church today we had a great message of saul’s conversion. it’s really amazing to think that we, because of christ, are found faultless and clean before god. not by any of our works, but because of one, final work of christ. His blood was enough for my sins, my faults, my failures. here are a couple of the verses from today. From Acts 9 ESV

17 So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized.

–isn’t that how sin is, scales over our eyes. but Christ has the power to remove them, so that we might see. Jesus is enough, more than enough for me and you.

good thoughts

well, i’m now 2 weeks into school and it feels like 13 weeks in. this month has seemed to be a downer for myself, but from some good chapel messages and personal devo’s i see the good in my pains, and joy in my sorrows. here are some lyrics that i wrote a while back. i found it today in a pile of papers. not “chart-topping” material, but it speaks a lot.

amazing grace

wow, this morning i sat through one of the best sermons i have heard in quite a long while. the scripture came from John 9. the main idea was the blind man’s eyes were open; what was hidden, is now seen. After many questions from the Pharisees, the blind man affirms what has happend to him,  ”…One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see.” although my words do not do the service justice, i hope that you can read it, and see it and Him for yourself

I was listening to this song from a christian band based in south carolina. the words are very true, even when our world begins to cave in—and no one is on our side, God is there. he is all we need. even in the darkest days, God is the Great Light that brings us through. a shelter in the time of storm, a stronghold in a time of trouble.
