A Missing Conversation

have you ever missed someone a whole lot? like you wont see this person for about 4 months, and conversations are sparce and short. you long to see the person, and just talk to her. not about specific stuff, just talk about nothing–sweet conversation, just to hear her voice. we always take for grated our speech. we use words to bring down people, say meaningless words, and speak worthless sludge—just to speak for the sake of speaking. when we speak, we need a reason to speak or else we are taking something away form us, and the person hearing it.speaking, just like eating and drinking, must be done in moderation–or else they become overwhelming and boring.

Big Thoughts

Feelings. Caring. Happiness. Love. Life. in our short life we have a certain number of days to life. during those days we go about our lives not realizing that at any point we would be swept away into eternity. Death happends. we dont expect it. a car accident or a heart attack, stoke or murder. we dont know when or how we're going to bite it. this past few days i have been thinking of certain things. i read the blog of a certain person:

Around the corner I have a  friend,

In this great city that has no end,

Yet the days go by and  weeks rush on,

And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see  my old friends face,

For life is a swift and terrible race,

He knows I  like him just as well,

As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he  rang mine but we were younger then,

And now we are busy, tired  men.

Tired of playing a foolish game,

Tired of trying to make a  name.

"Tomorrow" I say! "I will call on Jim

Just to show that I'm  thinking of him."

But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,

And distance  between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,

"Here's  a telegram sir," "Jim died today."

And that's what we get and deserve in  the end.

Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Remember to always  say what you mean.

If you love someone, tell them.

Don't be afraid to  express yourself.

Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.

Because when you decide that it is the right time it might

        be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets.

And most  importantly, stay close to your friends

and family, for they have helped

make you the person that you are today.

Make sure you tell the people you care about, that you care about them. i think i need to do tell someone that too.

Breaking the Code

today at church(www.gracechurchsc.org) was the DaVinci service, he went through the books points and then he showed from scripture and history how Dan Browns put fallacies in his novel. one of the more interesting points was how Constantine, in the book a christian on the deathbed, was really a convert much before then. supposedly, in Constantine's dream, he saw the cross above the battlefield–that signified the blessing of God. because of this Constantine "converted" to christianity. Also, the Council of Nicea was not to pick what to believe, it was to formally write down what was already being taught and code practiced. The Nostic Gospels that Davinci reffers to were not writen in the same century as the new testiment—leading to them being false. here are some helpfull sites to look at: www.TheDaVinciDeception.com www.DanBrown.com www.DaVinciCode.com

The Rock at Jocassee

so i just got back from a great day of golf with my friend Robert. the day began with the long drive out there, through pumpkin town and of course, the awesome stop at aunt sue's for the great food. rob's dad and grandfather met us out there. after we checked in then came the fun- golf. i had a pretty good day with the occasional screw-up, but overall i did ok. on the third hole rob was using his 3, when he hit the ball the iron head flew off…. funniest thing ever!!!! my best hit of the day came on the 17th hole, i had a huge 250yrd hit that fell just 100yrds from the hole. i was really happy. the Rock, is an ok course, some challenging pin placement with nice lazy dog legs.i will give it a 6/10, but for the money it's a 9/10. wilds rate $20-i love having connections!!!!

Golf and its Glory

chris pics 328.jpgchris pics 327.jpg

My summer has also been a time to practice my other hobby, golf. since school got out, i have played a few times with a couple of guys. tomorrow robert L and i will be going to the Rock at Lake Jocasse, so that should be a good round of golf. this pic was taken at the mauna lani golf course in Hawaii, a pretty good place for $250 per round.my dad is the guy in the other picture, i would rather golf with him than anyone else. my sticks are nike slingshots with my hammer, the "all powerfull", Big Birtha War Bird. Golf balls i could care less about, but i must say, the softer the better. i will continue to tell you guys about my golf outings. see ya

The Joys of Summer

well, i guess you could say that my summer really hasn't been a blast so far. but i am trying to have fun. mostly i have been keeping in contact with all my friends from school. a few, or less in particular :) …but anyways. Books, all my life i have thought books were really boring, and uninteresting; but now, after reading a few, i have found that i would rather read a book than watch a movie–crazy huh? so i encourage all of you to keep your mind in gear by reading. read anything and everything. from biographies to science fiction

Great and Mighty- Caedmon’s Call

here is another song you might want to ponder and not just sing the words without meaning. God, in all his glory, sent his son to die for us, that we through Jesus Christ would be set free from the bondage of sin. we have been given this free gift, and it is free, we did nothing for it, it was all him. Great and Mighty is our God, He set us free, and made us his own.

 Great and Mighty

Hold my heart, O God, keep me ever in Your will
There is joy within Your presence here and now
But better still
Is the day that is to come
When your full glory is revealed
I have long endured the trials of the age
But I will say

Chorus:
You are great and might God
Robed in majesty
You set us apart, You set us free
When You captured our hearts
You are great and mights

So in You I will rejoice, make my life an offering
I'm enraptured by the mercies of my King
And I will sing

I will sing Your praise, I will sing Your praise
O name above all names
I will count the day until I see Your face
I will evermore proclaim

DaVinci and Demons

ok, so i have been reading two books by dan brown: davinci code and angels and demons. over the course of a couple of posts i will go over some interesting spots and show you the faults in some others. all in all the books are great fictional novels, with capivating characters and spellbinding action. but as a historicaly based writing— i think it will fit in more with science fiction
